When I was five, my dad said that we should see a "heavy rock band like ZZ Top". We never did. When my dad was 54, though, I bought him tickets to see the band at Hammersmith Apollo - just to prove I'd not forgotten his comment 17 years previously! We were sat in the front row of the balcony which, while we separated from the main crowd, provided an excellent view. And the band rocked. It was like a "greatest hits" gig, and they played every song I ever knew they had recorded.Friday, 1 November 2002
